Srilankan Airlines is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka and was launched in 1979. It was formerly known as Air Lanka and was made the flag carrier after Air Ceylon was terminated. Srilankan Airlines fleet consists of 24 modern and sophisticated Airbus aircraft. The fleet comprises 12 Airbus A330 and 12 Airbus A320/A321 aircraft. The A330 aircraft is used for long-haul flights and the A320/A321 aircraft are used on short and medium-haul routes. The airline offers two classes of travel on its flights. The services offered vary depending on the type of travel class chosen. The different travel classes are as follows:

Economy Class

This class offers comfortable seats with ample legroom.

The airline follows a Weight and Piece policy depending on the destination.

• In the Weight policy Economy Class passengers can take a checked-in bag of 30 kg and Business Class passengers can take 40 kg.

• In the Piece system, the Economy Class passengers can take 2 pieces of checked-in baggage weighing 23 kg each and Business Class passengers can take 2 pieces weighing 32 kg each. 

• Economy class passengers can take a handbag weighing 7 kg and Business Class can take 2 pieces weighing 7 kg each.

Check-in Srilankan Airlines Domestic Flights

Passengers can check in online 48 hours to 2 hours before the scheduled flight departure. To check-in online go to the airline’s website and the required details. On successful check-in download the boarding pass and print it. At the airport, the checked-in baggage can be dropped off at the Bag Drop/Online Check-in counter.

Check-in Srilankan Airlines International Flights

Passengers can check in online 48 hours to 2 hours before the flight departure. To check in online using the app enter the details required like booking reference or ticket number and last name. On successful check-in save the e-boarding pass on the device. Drop the checked-in baggage at the Bag Drop/Online Check-in counter at the airport.
